Dispensing birth control had been a regular part of Dr. Mary Ann Sorra’s gynecological practice for eight years. Not anymore.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore announced April 30 that it is eliminating 30 positions at the Catholic Center, its administrative headquarters in downtown Baltimore. Five additional vacant positions will not be filled.

In a funeral liturgy that celebrated his quiet optimism and selfless leadership, Archbishop William D. Borders was laid to rest April 23 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Homeland.
