Esperanza Center temporarily closed due to neighboring fire

Esperanza Center, a Catholic Charities outreach located on South Broadway in Fells Point, is temporarily closed due to a four-alarm fire Sept. 7 in the neighboring Budeke’s Paints building. It will remain closed until repairs are made and the building is safe.

Baltimore City to pay a portion of pro-life pregnancy center’s legal fees

The City of Baltimore will pay $1.1 million to cover some of the legal fees incurred by the Center for Pregnancy Concerns after the center won a protracted legal battle over a city law requiring pro-life pregnancy centers to post signs stating they do not provide or refer for abortions or contraceptives.
