Catholic Charities among 2024 top workplace award winners January 6, 2025By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Black Catholic Ministry, Feature, Local News, News, Schools Catholic Charities of Baltimore was among several Archdiocese of Baltimore entities named a winner of a 2024 Top Workplace Award by The Baltimore Sun media group – “a prize created to highlight the importance and appeal of a people-first culture on the job.” The selections were based on confidential employee survey results gathered from hundreds of participating organizations throughout Central Maryland. Other Catholic organizations earning the distinction were: Monsignor Slade Catholic School, Glen Burnie; St. Augustine Catholic School, Elkridge; Calvert Hall College High School, Towson; Resurrection-St. Paul School, Ellicott City; Immaculate Conception School, Towson; St. Joseph School, Fullerton; Maryvale Preparatory School, Lutherville; St. Joseph School, Cockeysville; and St. Philip Neri School, Linthicum. Private-sector, public-sector and nonprofit employers with 35 or more staff members in the Baltimore area were eligible for the 14th annual awards. Selections were based on the results of a 24-question survey administered to the employees of participating organizations. The survey assessed employees’ experiences in a variety of categories, including: feeling respected and supported; enabled to grow; and empowered to execute. “Being identified as one of the best workplaces in the region is profoundly gratifying, given the emphasis we place on championing our nearly 2,000 staff members and the impact of their work on behalf of those in need,” said James Phillips, Catholic Charities’ chief officer of human resources, in a media release about the award. “We are focused on maintaining a culture of support, development, and inclusion to put all of our colleagues in the best possible position to grow, thrive, and serve.” Read More Local News ‘Hillbilly Thomists’ set to perform at Ss.
