Sister M. St. Henry Haiss, I.H.M., dies at 90

A funeral Mass for Sister M. St. Henry Haiss of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was offered March 25 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Dunmore, Pa. Sister St. Henry died March 20. She was 90.

Born in New York and given the name Catherine Helen, Sister St. Henry entered the IHM Congregation in 1952, made her temporary profession of vows in 1955 and her final profession of vows on Aug. 3, 1958.  

She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Marywood College.

Sister St. Henry taught at St. Agnes School in Catonsville from 1966 to 1967. Elsewhere, she served in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New York, North Carolina and the Archdiocese of Washington.
